Naturally most of us seek stability in our lives. We want a steady job, a recurring and secure income, a home of our own, etc. etc.It is totally understandable. Our life is affected by a multitude of variables that we do not control and we need a series of support points that make us have a greater sense of control.In addition, we like everything that contributes to making our life easier. It is normal.This search for security leads us to seek a life in which we feel VP IT Email Lists comfortable, surrounded by situations (good or bad) that we know. This is called a comfort zone .Personal growth: brief theoretical explanation I am not going to analyze it because I am not an expert in either of the two areas and also, this topic is widely covered in psychology and human resources blogs. But if I would like to mention it as a methodological basis.( If you want you can skip this point and go directly to the topic that motivates this article ).It is my understanding that people in this comfort zone face limiting jobs. Jobs that do not satisfy them, in which they comply with the assigned schedule and tasks and that they accept for the security and salary they are offered.Jobs in which, as a consequence of the above, they do not give the maximum in their day-to-day life and therefore jeopardize that sought security.And when we settle in we tend to be a bit lazy, we are not motivated and we seek to do things in the quickest and easiest way. And for this we look for shortcuts.
We want it all. A steady job with assured income that does not involve excessive effort and that leaves us time for our personal life.I recognize that it is a topical and generalist description, but it helps me to explain the approach to life that I am referring to.People often talk about the comfort zone when talking about personal growth. The complete scheme is made up of 4 phases :Comfort zone.Zone of fear.Action or learning area.Success and failure zone.The movements outside the comfort zone lead us to go through the zones of: fear (where we face emotions, opinions and beliefs), action – learning (where we find reality and the challenges to overcome to achieve what we want) and the zone of successes and failures (where we find the great opportunities, but also where we can fail).At the end of the post you will find the conversation we had around this topic on Linkedin in case you want to participate by leaving your comment.This is life. If you settle in, you lose
What really interests me about this whole process (which we all go through to a greater or lesser extent), is how the search for security leads you to decline and puts you at risk.
That is, we do our best to achieve stability and we do not realize that we are causing the opposite effect. Instead of controlling the situation, it is the situation that controls us . Our stability depends on external factors.When we are in this comfort zone we tend to be reactive, we try to comply with the record and go unnoticed.And as a consequence we settle down, we get lazy. We tend to seek the paths that require the least effort. We look for the easy, we avoid complications. We don’t want to go through the learning process and we test certain things to get quick results.The easy path is faster, but it doesn’t always get you to your destination This is a phrase that I usually use when referring to certain marketing techniques, but that we can apply in this context.The imperative of changeLife changes and we have to be vigilant to know how to adapt.
